XP Reaches End of Support – April 2014!

Here at Simplex-IT, we’ve been talking about the impending date of April 8, 2014 for some time now. That’s when Microsoft will officially end its support for Windows XP AND Office 2003. It was even a central topic of discussion in our most recent Lunchinar – “How Do You Know When Your I.T. is Obsolete?” (Watch the Simplex-IT blog site to be notified when the Lunchinar is published on our YouTube channel for your viewing convenience!)  And we’ve been encouraging businesses and individuals alike to become knowledgeable and start making their plans for this change in the computing landscape.

But what does it all really mean? Will it really be the end of life as we know it? Or is it much ado about nothing?

For an interesting perspective on the answer to this question I highly recommend this article – “What the Windows XPocalypse Means For You!” – found on one of my favorite websites, www.MakeUseOf.com. It reviews the major issues around the End of Support and should provide extra food for thought for those of you who may be still sitting on the fence on this issue.

No matter what course of action you decide to take, our central goal is to make sure you have all the information you need prior to making your decision. Of course, if questions remain and you need additional clarification, we are always happy to provide counsel. Don’t hesitate to contact us!
