Outlook 2013Lazy Bob here.  I am all about letting someone else figure out the ins and outs of new software.  So I was glad to see that the HowTo-Outlook site written by Robert Sparnaaij now includes a fantastic article “29 Short questions and tips for Outlook 2013.”  I immediately discovered several things about Outlook 2013, like how the default search configuration is to search the entire mailbox (it was driving me nuts).

A great article and a great site.  Check it out!

Simplex-IT’s July 2012 Lunchinar is now available for viewing on our YouTube channel. For your convenience, by clicking the thumbnail below you can view it directly in this blog entry.

This was an open panel discussion featuring our own Bob Coppedge, Heather Taylor from the Greater Akron Chamber and Mike Sheehan, Life Insurance professional and Social Media advocate.

Always a hot topic, “Social Media: What Now?” not only drew a large crowd (we almost exceeded the legal limit for our meeting room at Hattie’s Café) it also elicited strong participation from the attendees. Looking beyond the basics of should I or shouldn’t I be involved in Social Media the discussion assumed people and businesses in attendance were already involved, at least to some degree. The question instead was, quite simply, what do we do now?

Topics that were discussed including reviewing your Social Media goals, focusing on your prospect and not on you, finding the value in Social Media, measuring your results and lastly, the new Social Media options. These included Google+, Pinterest, FourSquare, and others.

During the presentation mention was made of a local group, Akron Bloggers Community that meets the last Thursday of the month from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at Mocha Joe’s in Stow. It’s an open group and anyone can attend. Check them out! You can access their LinkedIn page by clicking here.

Enjoy the presentation!

As our new Office Manager, of sorts, Monica Baird has a history of Project managing, Marketing, and Supervising Warehouse returns for a value add distributor of IBM & HP enterprise computer systems.  If you’d like to know more about her career, you can view it on Linked-In.

Monica Baird has lived in Northeastern Ohio most of her life, except when she went to college. She started out in Music Therapy and ended up with BSBA in Marketing from BGSU. Growing up, she took twelve years of classical piano lessons and dreamed of being a conductor. She realized that dream by currently sitting on the Board of Directors for Stow Symphony Orchestra as their Social Media Marketing person and videographer.

She’s a videographer, Citizen journalist and part-time staff member of the (Akron Digital Media Center) where she has videoed, edited, and produced 15 videos so far 2011-2012.

Lover of all nature trails in the Akron Metro Parks, she has two staffs and merit badges to prove her status of hiking the trails for 30+ years. Bucket list item is to hike all the trails in the US National Park system.

Monica is ambitious and has two blogs to write upon. One is where four ladies write about art and music locally and internationally. Next is LLC, in which she writes with Don Matis Jr about connecting Catholics with their faith, Catholic 12 Steps, and Happiness. Fun note: Don paints with his beard and sells his artwork on their site.
