From the beginning, Simplex-IT has been dedicated to a singular goal – keeping our clients’ investment in Information Technology working at maximum efficiency while providing strategic value in achieving that goal. Broadly stated, that’s what we do! But how we do it – and the benefit our clients enjoy as a result – is not always obvious.

At this month’s free Lunchinar, Bob Coppedge will reveal the what, how and why of what Simplex-IT does. More importantly, he will demonstrate how our efforts positively affect our clients’ business goals. If you’re a business executive or IT professional, you won’t want to miss this highly informative and revealing presentation.

Simplex-IT’s monthly Lunchinars are free, open to all and focused on sharing information. Join us!

Today’s workers are ALL mobile, whether they are on the road or not; a recent study found the average employee was at his or her desk only 40% of the time. Yet most companies’ communications infrastructure is designed for a deskbound workforce. Happily there IS a better way!

During Simplex-IT’s next free lunchinar, you will learn about Microsoft Lync, an often under-appreciated component of Office 365. Offering secure instant messaging, Internet-based voice, video conferencing, collaborative whiteboarding, presence and seamless document sharing on almost any device, Lync is transforming business productivity. If you’d like to see how your information workers can get more done in less time, this presentation is for you!

Simplex-IT successfully hosted its first free Lunchinar of 2012 with approximately 20 business owners, executives and IT professionals in attendance.

President and Chief Technical Guru Bob Coppedge entertained the group with his prognostications of IT Trends we can expect to see in the coming year. The Cloud, the differences between backups and business continuity and Microsoft’s planned new product offerings for 2012 (Windows 8, Office 2012, Server 2012, others) were among those topics highlighted. An energetic discussion of his picks occurred throughout the presentation.

Simplex-IT hosts these free lunchinars every 3rd Wednesday of each month. Watch this blog for announcements of future events. In addition, our monthly eNewsletter provides details of each monthly gathering. To sign up to receive it, just go to our website – www.Simplex-IT.com – and click the link for the newsletter.

This is our way of saying “thanks” to the 25 or so people who joined us at the fundraiser a couple of weeks ago.  And to thank my wife for giving me something as a Christmas present that was earlier given away as a raffle prize.

Thanks again to Microsoft and Life Equity for adding some additional raffle prizes!

Here’s a quick video combining both topics.

Attendees at Simplex-IT’s October Lunchinar gave high marks to Bob and Kevin’s presentation on upgrading your IT infrastructure. Among the comments we received:

  • Not over my head – very easy to follow and understand for non-techie people
  • Very informative
  • Love how they geared this for both technical and non-technical attendees
  • Good analogies

It’s not always easy to tell when a piece of hardware or software is past its prime and in need of replacement, but as you can tell from these comments our experts once again made it a bit simpler to understand. Good job, guys!

For those who wanted to attend but were unable, keep watching this blog as we videotaped the proceedings and hope to have the results published soon. We’ll post here as soon as it’s available for viewing.

Your server has done its job for many years.  And it still works…mostly.  As long as Ralph from Accounting keeps his 6 years of his history on his desktop (which doesn’t get backed up, but how likely is it something bad will happen?).  And we can’t get the manufacturer to renew the support agreement.

Connecting remotely?  Well your VPN works, as long as you’re not using Windows 7 to connect.  And you’re pretty sure the backups work, although you really haven’t tested them…

Simplex-IT’s next free Lunchinar will answer these frequently asked questions and in doing so help businesses of all sizes better understand how to keep up with today’s rapidly changing technology.

This presentation (from Simplex-IT’s Bob Coppedge and Kevin Dutkiewicz) will focus more on the network and less on your workstations: server hardware and software, firewalls, routers, new emerging technologies, etc. Older components can hamper your system – parts and support may be hard to come by, compatibility with newer software can arise, security may be compromised, and you may be spending more to maintain your older equipment than if you upgraded. If you are involved with the maintenance and management of your company’s IT infrastructure this is a Must Attend Event.

Join Simplex-IT at Hattie’s Café, 164 N. Main St., Hudson on Wednesday October 19, from 11:30am-1:00pm for a free lunch, networking with other business owners and professionals and stimulating conversation.

Seating is limited, so please RSVP to John@Simplex-IT.com or by calling 234.380.1277. We’ll see you there!

Founder and President of SACS Consulting & Investigative Services, Inc. Tim is considered one of the nation’s leading authorities in high-risk workplace and human resource issues, security, vulnerability assessments and crime (see www.TimothyDimoff.com for Mr. Dimoff’s full bio). Simplex-IT is pleased to announce that Tim will be our guest speaker at our next Lunchinar on the topic of Social Networks: Policies, Procedures and Pitfalls this coming Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 11:30am-1:00pm at Hattie’s Café, 164 N. Main Street in Hudson.

The explosive growth of online social networks has altered the way people communicate, share ideas, and disseminate information, but with it comes certain risks. The lines between professional and private lives continue to blur, and while these communication tools create great opportunities, they also create ethical dilemmas and challenges for businesses.

Every company needs to examine the risks this new medium brings to their business and what they can do to protect their company, their employees and their customers. This presentation covers the fundamental elements needed to establish good decision making, policies and protocols to protect the business and mitigate the risks.

Join Simplex-IT and Tim Dimoff for a stimulating discussion of importance to every business while you enjoy a free lunch and great networking. Seats are limited so please RSVP to John@Simplex-IT.com or call 234.380.1277. You won’t want to miss this highly informative presentation!

We are pleased to announce Simplex-IT’s Lunchinar, “Introduction to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2011,” is now online at our YouTube channel and is available for viewing. For your convenience, we have embedded all four parts of this presentation below, making it even easier for you to review Doug Tombow’s excellent overview of this exciting new cloud service.

Customer Relationship Management, commonly referred to as CRM, is receiving increased attention by today’s businesses. The ability to track an organization’s contact with a customer – from the sales department to customer service to accounting and everywhere in between – provides the kind of control needed to take advantage of every possible opportunity to exceed client expectations and increase revenue.

And since keeping a lid on costs is so important these days, the fact that companies can get started with CRM Online with no upfront costs for hardware and software is a huge plus. Since it is a subscription service, you only pay for what you need and use.

But you can listen to the whole story below. Just sit back, get comfortable and click on a thumbnail to get started. When you’re finished, if you have questions please give us a call (234.380.1277) or email John@Simplex-IT.com. We’re always happy to help!

Simplex-IT held another successful Lunchinar this past July 20 as we introduced Microsoft’s Dynamic CRM Online 2011 to an eager group of business owners and IT professionals.

Presented by Doug Tombow, resident Simplex-IT database expert extraordinaire, attendees learned about the advanced features, power and surprising affordability of Microsoft’s newest cloud-based Customer Relationship Management tool. Perhaps even more interactive than is typical for these presentations, Doug fielded a wide variety of questions from our guests, underscoring both the importance and interest in being able to track, maintain and effectively utilize the many contacts every business has with their most important asset, their customers.

Simplex-IT is already hard at work preparing the video of this event and we hope to have it posted here for your viewing pleasure in the coming days. In the meantime, of course, should you have any questions we might be able to answer concerning Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2011 (or anything else!), please don’t hesitate to contact us at 234.380.1277.

The response to our Social Media Strategy Lunchinar has been fantastic and we are very happy to announce that the entire presentation has been captured and posted on Simplex-IT’s YouTube channel. For your convenience we are also embedding all 4 parts right here on this blog entry.
